The Norton Grinding Wheel – 4” x 3” x 5/8” – 11 is a Type 6 wheel and is 8120 RPM. This wheel is used for frog profile grinding to remove any imperfections in a frog, improving a frog’s lifespan, and preventing derailment, therefore greatly increasing safety.
Over time, even materials as tough as rail become worn down making abrasives a vital part of the rail maintenance process ensuring rail and frogs maintain a proper profile to lower the risk of derailment.
